The Poco brand was launched as a Xiaomi sub-brand in August 2018. The Poco sub-brand had a small team within Xiaomi, and chose the name Poco as it represented the team since "poco" means "a little" in Spanish and Italian. Xiaomi introduced the Pocophone F1 under the Poco branding which became a success.
